Frank's Signs Inc. was founded by Frank Walsh in 1965.
Frank studied the art of signmaking following the conclusion of his
military service after World War II. He attended the New Hampshire Technical School and learned the finer aspects of handlettering
and screenprinting.
Frank put his skills to use at Walsh Signs, a business owned by his brother on the westside of Manchester.
He worked at Walsh signs until 1965 when his brother's ill health, forced the business to close.
On July 27, 1965, Frank opened
the doors to Frank's Signs. Originally located on Hanover Street in Manchester, the shop moved shortly after to
287 Lincoln Street. In 1976, the shop moved to it's current location at 591 Lincoln Street.
Jim Walsh joined the business
in 1975 and learned the art of hand lettering from his father and older brother Dennis, whom at the time, was also employed at
Frank's Signs.
Jim excelled in the sign industry and took ownership of the business in 1986.
In 1987,
the shop made some dramatic changes. A second floor was added, doubling the square footage, while also making a large investment, with
state-of-the-art computer equipment.
Kevin Walsh joined the staff at Frank's Signs, in 1996, thus becoming the third generation
in this family of signmakers.
We at Frank's Signs continue to improve our sign making capabilities by keeping up-to-date,
with the ever changing advancement of technology in computer aided design and graphic output, while still maintaining the
ability to use the time honored methods of signmaking. We look forward to being your sign company!
